Printing is the word which is invented for illustrating words, drawings, images and information. The printing process is usually carried on plain papers even if one considers product packaging (verpakkingen). There are different printing materials which are used for the process of printing. The plain printing paper can appear to be giving dull results.
Matte Paper
This type printing material can appear to be lustreless and dull which is mostly used in the industries for production of best quality prints but does not contain vibrant finish of colour. It is not glossy and hence the glare of the sun or finger marks does not cause any problem.
Glossy Paper
It is the most common type of printing material which is used for printing photos. It usually produces vibrant and sharp images and the texture of the paper is very smooth. It is also shiny and reflective which can cause a problem for viewing the photo in a sunny area. The glossy paper is available in three variations, which are brand specific papers, premium grade and semi gloss.
Gloss Laminated
This type of printing material is used in the form of postcards, where the main image is on the front side and the gloss laminate coat is applied making it shinier and colours vibrant, but is used well while printing awesome paper bags (Papieren Zakken).
UV Gloss
It comprises of printing an image on a standard glossy paper and then putting a coat of the ultra violet garnish on it before making it dry by exposing in the UV radiation. It usually makes an image extremely glossy and shiny.
